Mr. DeMarco brought to the firm more than 20 years experience in marketing to unions, public employers and private industry in the competitive HMO environment of Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Since the inception of the firm, he has assisted numerous HMOs, IPAs, PSOs and medical groups in developing better relations with buyers of health care. His broad national exposure to employers' needs, combined with his hands-on experience in developing products and strategies, offers clients an up-to-date perspective on what purchasers want in health care today.

Mr. DeMarco is a nationally recognized speaker on the areas of organizational strategy formation, physician capitation and physician-owned health plans. He frequently addresses such organizations as the National Managed Health Care Congress, the Medical Group Management Association, as well as various private forums of providers and employers.

The achievements of Mr. DeMarco have been cited in a number of journals and periodicals such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Health Market Survey, Hospitals Magazine and Business and Health.

Mr. DeMarco has written several monographs, including Physician Payment Reform: What's Ahead? and Understanding Capitation, as well as contributing author to "Managed Care Concepts in the Delivery of Disability Management Services in Industry" from the book Principles and Practices of Disability Management in Industry, a resource book for employers, labor organizations, physicians, occupational health nurses and other disability management professionals. He is also the author of Medicare Strategies, a primer for hospitals and physicians published by InterStudy, and contributed a chapter entitled The Management Services Organization Industry from the book Integrating The Practice Of Medicine, published by AHA Press. His most recent publication is Physician Driven Health Plans published by McGraw Hill in conjunction with the Health Care Financial Management Association.

Mr. DeMarco received his Master of Arts degree in Organizational Development from DePaul University in Chicago. He is a Certified Management Consultant in good standing with the Institute of Management Consultants. He is currently a visiting instructor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and is editor of several national newsletters.

Prior to founding DeMarco & Associates, he was one of ten people to participate in the creation of Share Health Plan in Minneapolis, he served as the District Manager of HMO Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and served as Executive Director of Clinicare Health Plan in Rockford, Illinois.
