Shel Gulinson, Consultant
In his role as Senior Vice President to Pendulum Health clients, Mr. Gulinson brings 20 years of on hands experience in health care and health technology roles. Previously with Quorum, the nation’s 12th largest health consultancy, Mr. Gulinson led the development and expansion of several physician hospital joint ventures as well as expanded strategic planning projects based upon his knowledge of successful startup organizations.
Prior to Quorum, Mr. Gulinson worked as a principal and cofounder of Rehab Care, servicing some 180 hospitals and 1,200 nursing homes in 44 states and Puerto Rico. He was also with Medicon, a radiology specialty network manager, and The American Hospital Association, where he assisted in developing new strategies for education and growth based upon his previous experience as Executive Director for the California Hospital Association and the Chicago Hospital Association.
He is affiliated with American College of Healthcare Executives, Member Regent’s Advisory Council, Member Chicago Area Hospital Planning and Marketing Association, Founder Chicago Health Executives Forum, Honorary Member Triangle Health Executives Forum, Member Duke University Health and Hospital Administration Alumni Association, President (twice) Duke University Fuqua School of Business, Alumni Council Member (twice).
Based on his extensive background in association management and knowledge of contracting with hospitals, ancillaries and LTC facilities, Mr. Gulinson has earned the respect of his peers for integrity and creativity. He is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and will manage the local MSO central office.
